Get ready for the LCM season. If you are interested in some LCM training,
contact Mark (or reply to this note). Based on pool NTY hours, the times
available for LCM training will be early mornings Mon - Fri, Saturday
afternoons, and Sunday. I should be able to make some arrangements for
community members to train outside the evening hours if interested. Also, keep
in mind, the early morning workouts almost never get stormed out in the summer!
The Bumpy Jones meet is in Sarasota June 11 - 13. Its a good facility, and a
fun meet, with a nice picnic in the park on Saturday. They are also having the
800M free and 800M free relay on Friday evening this year. Consider entering
the 800, its a great event. Also, if you're already heading down there, it
would be great to swim a couple of 800 free relays too! Let me know... Entries
are due June 3! But you can enter online! Yea!
Also try to lock in the St Pete meet July 10 - 11.
Training and Practice Updates
As most of you know, Beth is leaving us as deck coach at NTY, so best of luck to
Beth! We will be having some transitional coaching over the next month or so
while NTY develops their plans on the overall swimming program. A few of us
have talked to the NTY leadership and offered assistance, guidance, etc. as they
progress in this transition. If you'd like to make sure masters swimming
remains (and gains) as a priority at NTY, feel free to discuss further with me,
or even better, consider having a talk or just a quick message with the aquatics
leadership at the Y. The more positive messages they hear from us, the better!
Giveback
Tara Deering is seeking volunteers for another Adaptive Swim Team clinic on June
19 from 10 - 11am. If you are available to help out with this rewarding
experience, please let Tara know.
